Double Digits!!

So I am now in the double digits of this pregnancy!! =) I'm 10 weeks which means I'm 1/4 of the way done!! Whoo-hoo!! Since we're moving back home I know the weeks are going to just fly by because we'll be so busy!

I had a dream last night that seemed so real!! I had just had the baby and was holding it, just gazing at it in awe and I just assumed it was a boy (apparently I didn't remember the verdict during the birth) when Kyle came in and I told him that we had to think of a name for him and he told me that it wasn't a he, it was a she. I was so excited and just stared at her and started crying. It was so sweet! The baby in my dream actually wasn't that cute if I remember right, hehe, but I loved her and it seemed so real!! I just can't wait! The dream got me thinking that it really is a 50/50 chance (duh!) and just because I had a boy the first time doesn't mean that's what the second will be but we'll see!!!

The baby has had some major changes recently:

  • Baby's heart is completely developed!
  • Baby clearly looks like a baby now! (I no longer have a blob!)
  • All organ systems are present.
  • Baby's face is well formed! (awww, I can't wait to see what he/she looks like!)
  • Baby is ALMOST as long as a AA battery, so about 1.5 inches. (comparing my baby to a battery isn't nearly as cute or satisfying as comparing it to fruit like we have been doing!)

We worked all weekend on the house and I am so surprised by how much we got done!! We pretty much got everything we don't want to leave here packed up in our travel trailer that we're pulling back. I also organized the house and all the closets and drawers look fantastic if I do say so myself! I'm soooo excited to be moving home I just can't wait!! Hope yall had a good weekend!

Yee-Haw!!!

We are headed back to Texas!!!

We don't know any exact dates but we know we'll be there sometime in March!! Whoo-hooo!! We're so excited and can't wait to spend time with friends and family! Kyle got a job in Houston so we'll soon be heading back so he can go ahead and get busy working. Our house here is going to be put on the market so in the meantime we'll be living with my parents until it's sold. Please, please, please pray that our house here will sell quick, not because we don't want to live with my parents (because we're actually looking forward to that for a while) but because a huge weight will be lifted off our shoulders once it's sold and we don't have to worry about it anymore! We know it's in God's hands so it will sell when it's supposed to sell but we're really hoping it's sooner rather than later!

Colorado was a fun adventure for a year where we made some amazing memories! We met some new friends and really enjoyed traveling as a family and seeing all the sights that we never would have known about or seen if we hadn't lived here. We had some amazing camping trips, hikes, and ski trips so I'd say we really took advantage of our time here!!

Now onto our next journey as a family and who knows what God has in store! =)

More Nursery Bedding...

Of course I had to keep looking at nursery bedding and I came across these other two that I think are so sweet and cute!

I'm really done looking now because I've looked at quite a few and these are the only ones I really like. You also find a lot of the same stuff from website to website. Even though I think the other two are cute I think I really like the first one I picked out best!

I like it because you're not just limited to pink and brown. You can use green, yellow, pink or purple with your other wall decor that you add to the room. That normally wouldn't be too big a deal but I think it's also because I recently found these signs stuck away in our guest room closet that I had bought when I was pregnant with Keaton.
I was at the Katy Rice Harvest Festival and I didn't know if I was having a boy or girl yet. I saw these and just thought they were so precious and such a good price I couldn't pass them up. I figured if I had a boy I'd just save them just in case I ever did have a girl. They had a ton that said different things but I picked out these 4 for personal reasons. My Sunshine was chosen because my mom always called me her sunshine and we used to always sing You Are My Sunshine to each other. I knew I would always sing that song to my children so that one was special to me and I had to choose it! The other 3 are three things that I believe you have to do daily so they're just as important! They would match pretty well with the original bedding I picked out wouldn't they!? I just wanted to share the other two cute ones I found with you but I'm pretty sure I'm stuck on the first one I chose. What do you think?
Although I'm probably having a boy so none of this will ever be used, hehe! We'll see!! =)

Nursery Idea

Well I know it's super early to be talking nursery decor but it's just so exciting I can't help myself! I know I had mentioned that I was planning on getting custom bedding if it was a girl but after really looking into it, it was just absurd to spend that much money on something that would be used for about 2 years! So I started looking at other places and I found this from Babies R Us and I just love it!

I am completely aware that I could find something else between now and when the baby gets here but I of course had to find some options! Plus, I really like it so I dont think I'll be changing my mind! =) Since we're waiting until the birth to find out the sex my plan is to just know what I want in advance so that IF it is a girl I can get the bedding as soon as possible and my "team" (which consists of my mom, mom in law, and sisters) and I can get busy on the room!

I still think it's a boy and that I'll just be reusing Keaton's bedding (which I still love) but we'll see!! Only God knows! =) I'm so glad we decided to wait. I get so excited thinking about that moment!!

I'm still feeling good...CRAVING Chinese food and I think I could eat our whole box of popsicles!

8 Weeks 5 Days

Well I'm feeling great to be over the 7 week hump because that's when I miscarried last time. Even though I knew in my heart this pregnancy was different, it still feels good to be 8 weeks 5 days now!! =) I know that's still early but I just know all is well!

The baby is now about the size of a gummy bear or kidney bean and it's tail will be gone by the end of the week! =) Baby can also already bend it's knees and elbows and the eyelids are developing! The whole process is just so amazing!! What a miracle!

I'm feeling really good so far. I haven't really had nausea or sickness but there has been times after I eat that I just feel blah. Not really nauseated but just blah...I can't really explain it. I really need to buy some minty gum and I think that would help a lot!

Sleeping has been good and bad. I'm so tired that I usually fall asleep pretty fast and I mean I am OUT! The bad part is that I have to pee constantly and it gets really annoying! Last night I had to get up and pee 5, yes 5, times in one hour before I could finally fall asleep! ANNOYING...but I'll take it! =)

We've decided we're going to wait until the baby is born to find out the sex and I am so excited about that! I keep imagining that moment when they lift the baby up and yell the sex and it will be such a wonderful, exciting, special moment! I really think it's a boy but I think that's because I already have a boy so I can't really imagine anything different! I will be sooooo excited either way and I just can't wait! I found this website that does custom baby bedding and if you don't want to know the sex of the baby you pick out one girl bedding and one boy bedding and then give your doctor permission to share the news with this company and she'll make the bedding you picked out for the sex she knows you're expecting. Then she doesn't mail the bedding until you tell her to she wont spoil the surprise!! I'm so excited about this! I'm going to pick out a girl bedding and tell her if it's a girl to make that but if it's a boy I already have bedding so don't worry about it.

Although it is nice to feel organized and have the entire nursery ready before the baby is here, we learned that you really don't use it in the beginning because you're nursing and the baby usually just stays with you in your room so we're not too worried about not being "prepared". After the baby's here I know I'll have lots of help from my mom, Kyle's mom and my sisters that the room will be decorated and organized in no time! =) I can't wait!!

Our V Day Weekend

I feel like I haven't blogged in forever! Honestly, I've just been exhausted! It's very tiring growing a human inside you! =) I can't wait to get that 2nd Trimester energy because I have been a ball of laziness!!

This weekend was a nice weekend spent with my two boys! Kyle had candy and flowers delivered to the house for me on Friday for Valentines Day and they were beautiful! Being surrounded by all this snow and bare trees it was wonderful to see the gorgeous spring colors of the tulips he got me! Tulips are one of my favorite flowers and I'm still enjoying them! He is so sweet, I'm so lucky to have him!!

My sweet sisters and parents were going to send us a bouquet of chocolate covered strawberries and other fruit for Valentines to let us know they were thinking of us and missed us (so sweet right?) but every website they went to and picked something out said that they didn't service our area...that just tells you how out in the middle of nowhere we live! =) It cracked me up and it was the thought and effort they made that counted!

We got some snow on Saturday and then on Sunday it was a family affair of reloading our wood pile for our fires. Keaton just loves helping his daddy and it always puts a smile on my face to watch him follow Kyle around.

Yesterday I went with my friend Laura and her son Jack on the hour and 30 min drive to Farmington to hit up Lowes and Target. That's right, I have to drive an hour and a half to go to a freaking Target!!! So different than what I'm used to which is probably why I've only been to Farmington about 3 times in the whole year we've lived here. Instead I just settle for Wal Mart which still takes about 20-30 min to get to! =) Anywho...we also took the boys to the park because Farmington isn't covered in snow like it is here and then we went to lunch at Chile's. It was such a great day spent with friends and it was great to be out of the house for an entire day!

The Best "Tuesday 10" EVER!

OK so I know it's really Wednesday 10 but you get the picture...

10 Things Going On With Me Lately...

10. Peeing A LOT!
9. Headaches.
8. Very tired.
7. Sore boobs. (sorry boys)
6. Strong sense of smell.
5. Moody
4. Sensitive- I cry at the drop of a hat!
3. Did I say peeing A LOT!?!
2. Oh, and sore boobs. =)
1. I'm pregnant!!!!

YAY!!!! We are so excited!! I actually took the test on January 18th and it went straight to two very clear lines! We of course were so overjoyed but also nervous because of the miscarriage that happened with our last pregnancy.

I went to the doctor on Tuesday, Jan 27th and had an ultrasound and some blood work done. During the ultrasound they could see a sac but no baby or heartbeat so she figured it was probably too early. The blood work came back the next day and my hCG was great but progesterone was only 17 and it should usually be around 20. So Thursday the 29th I had my blood work done again to make sure my levels were increasing. My hCG had gone up which is great and means its a viable pregnancy but my progesterone had gone down to 15 (miscarriage usually occurs around 10). So they prescribed me some progesterone and I've been taking that twice a day for the last two weeks and everything has been great!

I actually can tell a huge difference in this pregnancy versus the one that we miscarried. This time ALL of the symptoms are there and last time I really didn't feel anything at all so I think that's a great sign!

Jan 18th Test

We kept it a secret since the levels were a concern and we figured we'd just wait until after our next doctors appointment to make sure everything was OK. So we went in today and everything looks great! We saw our little blob and it's heart flickering away! What a miracle life is, it's just so amazing! It's heart rate was 160 and my due date is Sept 26th!! Keep us in your prayers, we're so excited!
Cletus the Fetus!! =)

That at the bottom is showing the heartbeat. The blob is our little baby. The head is at the right and butt and legs toward the left! =) You see that right? haha!

Who Needs a Trampoline...

when you have daddy!??!!!

This weekend was pretty laid back. We went skiing again on Saturday and had a blast, as always! It was another beautiful day and I got to see my friend Katy! Her and her husband were in town with some friends to ski so we met up with them and had lunch and just caught up with each other. She got to meet Keaton for the first time and it was just a great day! Last night we made dinner for our neighbors. He wasn't feeling good for about 2 days earlier this week so his wife finally took him to the doctor and they said he had suffered a heart attack and probably wouldn't have made it through the day if she hadn't brought him in! Scary! He's doing better now but keep him in your prayers! I hope yall had a great weekend too!! I'm usually sad on Mondays when Kyle goes back to work but knowing that The Bachelor comes on tonight always makes Mondays easier and exciting! hehe! =)

Hick-Ups Are So Funny!

This morning Keaton was watching Tigger and Pooh and I heard him just cracking up! Tigger had the hick-ups and was bouncing all over the place and Keaton just thought it was the funniest thing! Every time he would hick up, Keaton would just burst out laughing. I pushed rewind on the DVR and tried to catch him watching it. It's funny to see his face go from serious when he's concentrating on the show to then smiling and laughing! =)

Here's one more video for your viewing pleasure of Keaton kissing my "bobo". =) I just like to hear him say things, too cute!

Cara Monster

Hey yall! Well it's that time of year again for me to ask you to donate whatever you can to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. As you know my friend Cara has this disease and she has to keep up with daily routines to keep it in check. Everyday she takes a ton of pills and is hooked up to a vest for at least an hour that breaks up the mucus in her lungs. Today she actually woke up coughing up blood and might have a lung infection so please keep her in your prayers! If you met Cara you would never know she has a disease because she lives life to the fullest and is so positive! She is such an inspiration! The average age a CFer lives is 37 and Cara is 27. Please donate as little or much as you can to help find a cure! You can go to my sight at http://www.cff.org/Great_Strides/KristinKotzebue to make your donation. Thanks again, I appreciate it more than you know!! Help CF stand for Cure Found!!!!!

Tuesday 10

Well since I'm really missing my friends right now I decided to do 10 of my favorite pics with my girlfriends. You know the pics you look at and just smile because you remember what a great night that was! There are tons more I could have chosen but these are SOME of my favs and they put a smile to my face while I reminisced about my friends that I miss so much! I'm so blessed to have such great people in my life! =)

10 Favorite Group Friend Pics...

10. April, Candyce, Me, and Kendall- This was at Mo's to say goodbye to Kendall when she was moving to Phoenix. I left for Colorado about a month after this and we were getting all the hugs we could before we left!

9. Sarah, Me, JoDee, and Roni- This was my first night on the town after I had Keaton so of course I remember it well! Keaton was a little over 2 months old so I was wary to leave but yet so excited for some me time! Heath and Andrew brought there kids over and all our husbands stayed home with the kiddos while the ladies went out for drinks!

8. Krystal, Heather, JoDee, Me, Cari, Kristel and Joy- This was my bowling birthday party and we had a blast! I was newly pregnant so going to a bar was NOT an option but bowling sure was!! =) Who doesn't love to bowl???

7. Courtney, Me, Cara, and Amanda- The 4 of us went to Jr. High together and this was our first night together in a LONG time! It was so much fun to catch up with them and this was actually the first night I shared the news with anybody that I was pregnant (with Keaton). I wasn't supposed to tell anybody yet but they asked me when we were going to start trying and I just couldn't wipe the smile of my face...guilty!!

6. Sally,Jaimie, Joy, Me, and Suzzy- This was at Mo's (can you tell we like that place!) for Kristel's birthday and like always we had a blast together!

5. Julie, Heather, Nanci, Erin, Cari, and Me- This was in Las Vegas for Cari's Bachelorette Party. This was one of the best times of my life! We had so much fun and I will never forget the memories we made! This was our first day there, we were just getting started! =)

4. This is too many people to name but it was at Trey and Kristal's Rehearsal Dinner at Victors Casa Garcia (mmmm, I would love some of that right now!) We ate yummy food, delicious margaritas, and then headed up to...you guessed it, Mo's!!!!

3. This was our first and last annual 4th of July party at our old house. We had a really great time but once the fireworks started I became a little anxious! Lets just say the boys all started shooting the Roman Candles at each other rather than in the air. Just imagine a bunch of 26 year olds "boys" running around a cul-de-sac hiding behind trees, bushes, and cars aiming at each other with fireworks! I was a wreck since we barley knew some of our neighbors and I swore I would never host a party where fireworks were involved ever again! =) (Oh and this was before I had a baby, that kid I'm holding is Miss Sydney and she belongs to Sarah and Andrew.)

2. Sally, Lauren, Jaimie, Me, and Carrie- This was at Midnight Rodeo and it was such a fun night! We all drank and danced the night away! I really miss my friends!

1. Kendall, Kristel, Jaimie, Carrie, Me, Sally and Joy- This was at my Bachelorette Party in Austin, TX. This was another weekend I will NEVER forget! We had so much fun that night going out to dinner and then hitting 6th Street. We got tons of free drinks and just had a blast! Then we stayed in a hotel and floated the river the next day. I love my girls!

Boxes, Snow and Football...

OK well my family has been requesting some pics of Keaton so I happily obliged! Remember how much fun boxes used to be! I remember once my friends parents got a new refrigerator and we played in that box in the front yard for hours!! So much fun!

Of course he managed to find one of my necklaces again...
Then some bracelets on another day...

This weekend was a lot of fun! We went skiing again on Saturday and I must say we're both getting really good! =) I even caught air! Kyle said I probably got 2-3 feet, which isn't a ton but it's enough, and I landed it gracefully! I actually didn't fall the entire time. I'm also getting good at going fast to one side and turning to spray snow everywhere. We're just having a blast! =)
A "redo" of last weeks photo, this time my shadow isn't in the way!
We got separated on the lift and man does the way up seem long and slow when you're sitting by yourself!!

Afterwards we got Keaton from the nursery and had lunch outside at the bottom of the lift. It was another gorgeous day!
Here's Keaton getting tickled by his daddy! =)

Our Little Snow Monster...

We also had a wonderful time last night with our friends watching the Super Bowl! What a GREAT game!!! At first I was indifferent on who I wanted to win but then I decided for sure the Cardinals were my pick. I was so excited when they got that last touchdown but it just wasn't enough, oh well! The game was a great one and so was the food and company! Hope you had a great weekend too!
