Football and Thanksgiving

A few weekends ago we took the camper to Lake Bryan for a weekend of camping and football! We went up on Thursday so it was really nice to have all day Friday to relax and visit Texas A&M campus before a full day of tailgating on Saturday! The weather was perfect Fall weather and we had a great time!! The Ags beat Nebraska in the best football game I have EVER been to! It was SO FREAKIN LOUD!!! I couldn't even hear my voice when I would yell because EVERYONE was yelling, it was amazing! The view of everyone on their feet spinning their 12th Man towel was a site to see!! I love my Ags and that was an unbelievable game! It ended up being the largest crowd ever in Kyle Field and we also broke the record for highest student attendance in College Game Day history!! WHOOP!!!!

Keaton learning to catch a football! Eye on the ball!!!

Playing catch with daddy!

LOVE HIM!! My little angel!!

Little Miss Karter visiting all the other tailgaters!

We WON! Wrecking Crew, Wrecking Crew!!!

We stormed the field! =)

For Thanksgiving we went to Uncle Brad and Aunt Amanda's house and they did a GREAT job hosting for everyone! The food was delicious and the company was fabulous but I was a little stressed! Karter Lynn wouldn't go down for a nap so that meant stressed out mommy but oh well! Some days are easier than others and I guess we don't get to choose which days those will be! All in all we were together and have a lot of wonderful things to be thankful for!! We ended up leaving and watching the game at home so we could put Karter to sleep. Ags BTHO Texas...whoop!!! Another great game for the Aggies and now we're headed to the Cotton Bowl!!!

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things...

I have a lot of family members and friends that are pregnant right now and wanted to share some of my favorite mommy finds that you wont find at Babies R Us! =)

  1. Bestever Mats: These are so soft and babies just love them! They're great to lay on the floor for your newborn to sleep on top of and as they get older they're great to snuggle with! Karter LOVES these!
  2. Mabels Labels: These are great for labeling clothes, shoes, lunchboxes, bags, anything!! If your baby will be in daycare these are a must! I never really needed them until this year when Keaton started school and they told me everything needed to be labeled. These work great and are also very stylish and cute! I bought the classic school pack under the combo packs!
  3. Hooter Hider: I nursed both my babies and let's be honest you don't want to always leave to go to a confined room all by yourself but you also don't want to just pop a boob out so these are a great way to nurse in public! They completely cover you up but the top allows you to easily look down and see your baby. Since it goes around your neck your baby can't pull it off of you like they can a blanket. I love mine!!!
  4. Inchbug: These are so great for sippie cups. They can go in the dishwasher and are very secure so you don't have to worry about them falling off! Super cute too! =)
  5. Etsy: I LOVE Etsy!! Now that I have a girl I am all about pillowcase dresses, tutu's, ruffles and bows! I also bought Keaton's napmat for school on Etsy. You can find tons on Etsy and it's adorable and handmade! Here are some that I've used and know they are fantastic! My friend Micheala's shop and the Olive Tree.
  6. Ellie Bean Sling: My friend makes these and I love them! I tried different slings with Keaton and they killed my back, I hardly ever used them. I got this one with Karter and I loved it! She always fell right asleep in it and it was so convenient!
  7. Ritzy Baby: they have the cutest car seat covers! I didn't have one for the infant seat but I did buy Karter one for her toddler seat and it's so cute! So pretty and well made and very easy to take off if a diaper happens to burst! Although we moms know that never happens, right?? Bahahahaha!
Hope you found something you liked and let me know if you have a favorite that I need to know about! =)

Halloween...Finally!!!

So I have a lot to catch up on but this post will just be Halloween! =)

We seemed to "celebrate" it quite a lot this year! We had a costume parade at Keaton's school one day, his class party another day, a Halloween play date, and last but not least on the big day...my moms annual Halloween party before trick or treating! All of it was a lot of fun and wonderful memories were made! Keaton picked out his Darth Vadar costume months ago and Karter was an adorable lamb!

Darth during the Halloween Parade at school...Karter just saying hi to him! =)

Halloween Playdate...you've heard of pull my finger?? =) Karter and Landry!

Gig Em' Ags!!

A couple weekends ago we went camping at Lake Bryan and took the kids to our home away from home...Aggieland, for a long day of tailgating! WHOOP!! We had such a great time playing washers, eating yummy food, and visiting with family and friends. The kids were so good! Keaton is always super easy and goes with the flow but I was concerned with high maintenance Karter but she proved me wrong and was an angel! At game time we left with the kids and headed back to our camper. It was a great weekend!

Keaton playing washers...look at that form! =)

Karter's First Birthday Party

I had so much fun decorating and preparing for Karter's party! I can definitely say this is the most creative and crafty I've ever gotten and I had so much fun!! It was also a lot of work! Kyle kept asking me:

"why are you doing all this?"
"it would be easier if you just..."
"you're making this so much harder on yourself".

That is true but although it's work, I do it because I truly enjoy it and I love my kids and I want them to have an amazing party. For those of you that watch Tori and Dean HSH (if you don't watch you should!) there was a time when Tori (LOVE HER!!) was making adorable little marshmallow hay stacks and Dean gets onto her and asks her, "Why do you do all this? What does THIS mean to you?" and she just says, "LOVE!"

That's exactly how I feel! =)

We love you Karter Lynn and hope you had a wonderful first birthday party! =)

The drink and party favor table.

For our baby guests I put Gerber Puffs in glass baby food jars.
The adorable decorations I cut out were designed by TomKat Studios !

For the "big kids" I made these boxes out of 12x12 paper and had a sign that said, "Before you go and say goodbye, grab a box and fill it high!" So the kids just filled their boxes with yummy candy and snacks that we had out.

I decorated all the vases with ribbon and the cutouts.

The dessert table had ladybug cookies, jello, chocolate covered strawberries, licorice, jellybeans, cinnamon peppermints, apples and dip, cupcakes and the ladybug cake I made. The table turned out perfect except that I had planned on putting it outside where the backdrop wasn't that ugly wallpaper but it was so hot everything was melting so I had to bring it in which really stressed me out. I learned I need to be more flexible next time, ha!

These got a little smushed! Oh well! =)

I used food coloring to turn the chocolate chip cream cheese dip red so it would be more "ladybugish"! =) I put the decorative cutouts on lollipop sticks for cupcake toppers. As you can tell I got a lot of use out to the cutouts! =)

My smiley ladybug!!

She did not like that ladybug cake, haha!

In the end Kyle of course thanked me for all my hard work, he was never not appreciative he just doesn't understand. Few guys do...unless they're gay! =)
